The Story of Fest Jazz
Fest Jazz began in 2003, when a group of local musicians created the band “Good Time Jazz” and started playing monthly sessions at the charming Auberge Tal ar Pont, right on the banks of the River Aulne.
The sessions became legendary — packed, lively, and hugely popular for 14 years! Inspired by this success, the idea was born in 2005 to create a jazz festival in this beautiful corner of Brittany.
From the very beginning, the goal was simple: create a festival that feels relaxed, friendly and full of life — very different from the formal atmosphere of many traditional jazz festivals.
Today, four stages line the riverside. Festival-goers wear a wristband and wander freely from stage to stage, following the music and the mood wherever they lead. The first festival welcomed 500 spectators. In 2025 — our 20th anniversary edition — more than 6,000 people joined the party.
Fest Jazz has truly taken flight!
The Atmosphere
Fest Jazz is famous for its wonderfully relaxed vibe — a true family festival with an international spirit and a fantastic mix of ages and nationalities.
The music is just as diverse and vibrant:
- Swing
- New Orleans Jazz
- World Music
- Folk
- Bluegrass
- Rock’n’Roll
Our musicians come from all over the world and are chosen not only for their talent, but also for their passion for sharing music with the audience and creating unforgettable live moments.
