Big Band du Pays Roi Morvan
The Jazz Big Band was founded in 2010 by Xavier Dagorn, who wanted to introduce students at the Pays du Roi Morvan Music School to jazz standards.
In 2012, Karl Gouriou (a saxophone teacher) took over as director of the jazz big band. Like any jazz enthusiast, he has spent all these years nurturing the amateur musicians’ keen interest in exploring jazz.
With its 19 musicians, the jazz big band is beginning to gain a strong reputation, as for the past three years they have been collaborating with a jazz choir from the Kreiz Breizh School of Music, Theater, and Dance, led by Marine Vansteene (vocal instructor).
