Stochelo x Mozes Rosenberg Trio
Charlie Chaplin’s Songs and More!
Brothers Stochelo and Mozes Rosenberg come from one of the most talented lineages in the world of gypsy jazz. Their virtuoso playing has taken them to the biggest international stages. This year, they will perform on the festival’s main stage, accompanied by their double bassist William Brunard, to present a brand-new project paying tribute to Charlie Chaplin’s musical legacy.
In 2023, Chaplin’s son, Michael, and his granddaughters, Carmen and Dolores Chaplin, visited Stochelo and Mozes Rosenberg (of Sinti origin) at their home in Nuenen, the Netherlands, to discuss their participation in the documentary film, “The Spirit of the Tramp.” An interview with Stochelo and Mozes is included in the film, and they will also perform a song by Charlie Chaplin. Chaplin was a great composer who, in addition to numerous film scores, also composed beautiful songs.
The brothers Stochelo and Mozes Rosenberg, in consultation with the Chaplin family, released a new album in 2025 featuring Chaplin’s most beautiful songs as well as a number of their own compositions dedicated to him.
